Notice of Intended Marriage
What is it?
All couples wishing to marry in Australia are required to give 31 days notice of their intent to marry. This is done by filling in and submitting a Notice of Intended Marriage form with an Authorised Marriage Celebrant. The form can be filled out via an editable PDF or, printed off and filled by hand.
What do I need to do?
The Notice of Intended Marriage needs to be filled out by you. The PDF is editable - so typing into the boxes and then saving is the easiest way, but if you like, you can print it and fill in by hand in BLACK ink.
You can always reach out to me if you have any questions about the form.
What ID do I need?
The Celebrant needs to ascertain that you are who you say you are, and your place of birth. This can be done by sighting a registered passport or both a State-issued Driver License and a Birth Certificate.
Birth Certificates can assist greatly in filling out some of the family details required on the Notice of Intended Marriage. If you have been married before, the celebrant will also need to sight your certificate of divorce.
